About the event
In honor of our nation’s 250th Anniversary, DeKalb Township is excited to launch a multi-year effort to plant 250 trees throughout the town. Planting trees strengthens our neighborhoods, cleanses our air, and makes for a healthier community for generations to come.
We’re kicking things off with a community tree planting event on April 21 from 9 AM - noon at Elder Care Services! This event, happening during Arbor Day week, marks the beginning of a multi-year effort to grow and strengthen our local tree canopy. If you’d like to volunteer to help at this tree planting, or future plantings (at other sites), please call DeKalb Township at 815-758-8282 or email admin@dekalbtownship.org.
People of all ages and abilities are invited to participate. Attendees will gain hands-on tree-planting experience, grow in their knowledge and appreciation of trees, and learn how to obtain FREE Trees and Shrubs from DeKalb Township.
